ROY’S Imperial India Pale Ale
This high octane beer is named in honor of Ter ry Leonard’s grandfather Robert “Roy” Bischenauer:
Son of German immigrants, Roy served in the US Navy as a Gunner’s Mate. Although rumor has it his rank fluctuated depending on the prank he pulled, Roy was known throughout the fleet as the ship’s jokester. Touring under Generals Dwight D. Eisenhower, Douglas MacArther and Admiral “Bull” Halsey, Roy participated in every major naval battle in the south pacific and in several north African campaigns.
Imperial India Pale Ale is an intensely hoppy and malty beer with a big kick. Golden amber in color, it boasts a huge malty mouthfeel similar to an American Barley Wine. This beer is a tribute to IIPA’s and dedicated to the memory of Roy, and all those who proudly serve our nation.
